Head shots have always been a must have for actors, singers and models, but with the emergence of Social Media on so many levels they have become very important for the business professional and entrepreneur alike.
One of the first things that people do today when preparing to meet a prospective business partner, or preparing for an upcoming interview, is to do a search to see if the person’s photo can be found. We simply want to see who we are about to interact with. This is extremely critical since many other outlets for doing business have replaced the good ol “face to face meeting”.
It’s important to have a current image of yourself on social media outlets (unless you are in protective custody. *insert laugh*) including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and more. I said current because you want an accurate representation of yourself and not what you looked like 10 years and 40lbs ago. It’s also important to take the time to look your best for your headshot. Here are a few tips that should help:
- Rest well before your shoot. When you are well rested you will look and feel your best in front of the camera.
- Consider all aspects of the shoot, including wardrobe selections. When in doubt seek professional help. We offer a wardrobe consultation and have a personal stylist available to assist.
- It’s also important to consider wearing natural looking make up. You want your images to look classic and to be usable across different platforms.
- Relax and have fun. Many times being in front of the camera can be an intimidating thing. We like to spend time with our clients to build rapport which helps to put you at ease once its time to begin shooting.
We truly love creating unique headshot that are not only professional, but bring out the very essence of your personality. Again, this may be the first interaction many new people will have with you and we want to make sure that its the very best. Remember, you only get ONE chance to make a first impression.
