I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with one of the most dynamic leaders within the community. She is one of the most caring individuals I know and works harder than most. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to some and present to others, Sheena Baker, the focus of our business owner spotlight.
Sheena is an amazing entrepreneur and leader. This past January, she celebrated the one year anniversary of her boutique, Extend Your Styles in Aurora. This is a beautiful boutique that sells women’s hair extensions, but it’s more than just buying hair, you get an experience. They offer one on one personal shopping, wine while you shop and they have stylists available to complete installation if needed. They even offer delivery service to local salons within 10 miles. Extend Your Styles boutique is truly one of a kind and a must visit destination when you are near Fox Valley mall (4151 McCoy Dr #139, Aurora, IL).
Now, the cool thing about this boutique is that she also uses the space as a venue, holding empowering events for women (men too) in the area including sip and paint sessions, singles panel discussions, and so much more. The venue is really nice and provides an outlet for the west suburban community to learn and have fun.
She is also a realtor (Sheenasells.com). Former President of the WCR, Sheena is serious about real estate. She is a lifelong learner ensuring that she stays abreast of the latest in technology, use of social media and best practices. I personally think what makes her successful is her engaging personality. Sheena has never met a stranger. She is engaging and has the uncanny ability to connect with EVERYONE she comes in contact with. Her energy is infectious and it’s very apparent that people enjoy being in her presence.
In addition, she is also the co-founder of SMB Network (She Means Business) which is a women’s networking organization that educates, connects, promotes and empowers women in business and aspiring entrepreneurs. They do a phenomenal job of creating events that inspire women within the community. Be on the lookout for some awesome events this year.
Now, this is something she would NEVER do, so let me take a moment to brag on her. Sheena was just awarded the 2018 QCAAC Aspiring Entrepreneur Award. I already mentioned her role as 2017 Women’s Council of Realtors Past President (West Suburban Network). She was also recognized In 2016 Chicago Agent Magazine Who’s Who. Quite an impressive list of accomplishments among others.
Sheena is a powerhouse of a leader, entrepreneur, and friend. She is super genuine and has a heart of gold. I’m looking forward to even greater things from Sheena and all of her businesses. When you need a realtor, she’s got you covered. Looking for hair to change things up, EYS is the boutique for you. Looking for awesome events that will inspire and lift your spirits, stay tuned for more from SMB.
If you know her, drop an encouraging word in the comments to let her know just how much she is appreciated.
