What can you do to prepare for real estate photography?
We wanted to take some time to provide some real estate photography tips to help you prepare your home for pictures. The real estate marketing Winston Salem, Greensboro, and Charlotte are showing signs of cooling down a bit and it’s never been more important to have great pictures of your home for your listing.
Clean up
Clean up clean up, everybody clean up. This may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s important to ensure that your home is properly cleaned to prepare for your real estate pictures. Simple things can make a big difference, such as putting down toilet seats, removing clutter, dusting, and sweeping the floors. It helps to remove unnecessary items from countertops and couches.

Real Estate photography tips – preparation
Now that the home is clean, it’s time to focus on some of the other aesthetics such as opening the blinds in the home. This helps to allow more natural light into the home. We also utilize professional lighting to blend with the natural light to get the best images. It’s ok to turn all the lights on and make sure that any blown bulbs are replaced. You should also make sure ceiling fans are turned off. In the bedrooms, make sure beds are made and decorative pillows are fluffed (if you really want to get fancy, give it the HGTV pillow chop 😀).
Preparing outside for pictures
Most of the focus for real estate photography preparation is on the inside of the home, but it’s important to give the outside some positive attention as well. Let’s start with the yard. Ensure that all items are picked up (tools, hose, etc). It’s great to ensure the grass is cut. Cars should be removed from the driveway and not immediately placed in front of the house (as they may appear in pictures from the front rooms or drone real estate images).

That’s it, that’s all
