There are a ton of people out there simply doing business for the sake of business. Every once in a while you come upon an amazing business and owner that puts the needs of others first. Such is the case with Itz a Wrap Boutique. After hearing her story and the story of some of the women she works with, I was totally wrapped up (pun intended) and ready to help.
I met the owner, Tasha while networking with an amazing and supportive group of friends that I have been blessed to know. In concert with the rest of the amazing entrepreneurs and leaders, Tasha is just as dynamic. She told me about her business and an idea she was working on and I wanted to help.
Her boutique was initially inspired by a fashion trend for high fashion head wraps, but Tasha developed a burden for those who suffer from hair loss. It’s important for women to understand that their hair does not define them. And more importantly, beauty isn’t defined by your hair. With this amazing collection, women can rock a beautifully styled head wrap and no one will ever know because head wraps are worn not only for hair loss but also as a fashion statement. And when you have so many beautiful colors and styles to choose from, you can find something to compliment any outfit.
Her goal is to target women who have suffered hair loss from battling Lupus, Cancer, Vitiligo & Alopecia. These traumatic Illnesses have been life-altering and in many cases, the impact is far-reaching. The negative impact can include loss of self-esteem, problems in finances, a negative effect on marriages/relationships and so much more. While many forms of Cancer have a high level of awareness some of the other illnesses do not. The sad fact is that not many are talking about the 40% of women suffer hair loss from these illnesses and others including stress.
Tasha has not yet created a head wrap collection exclusively for this cause, however, she wanted to do a photo shoot as a tribute for those who are battling these illnesses and also in honor of those who have passed on from the battle. They are so many survivors and we honor their lives for their fight!
2-Time Cancer Survivor
These are just a few of the many faces that have been impacted by disease which causes hair loss. I’m sure you will agree with me that they are ALL beautiful. Each with their own story. Each with their own unique struggle. Yet, each with a beauty that reaches far beyond their hair. Beauty that comes from the struggle and that will help liberate others from their story. Beautifully wrapped heads that are all miracles.
I salute you Tasha and Itz a Wrap Boutique for all you do. Keep pressing forward. And to my incredible women out there in the fight we are praying for you. Keep going.
